A 5mm band with a fully domed profile. The outer surface curves from one edge to the other with no flat section and no edge line anywhere on the ring. The finish is high polish — no texture, no stones, no pattern. The width and the curve of the metal are the entire design.

The Design

The dome is a true half-round, rising to about 2mm at the center of the band and tapering to the edges. Because the surface is continuously curved, light travels across it as one moving highlight down the center of the ring instead of breaking into separate flashes. There are no corners or squared edges, so the band does not catch on gloves, pockets, or fabric, and it does not develop the sharp scuff lines that form along the edge of a flat band. The interior is comfort fit — rounded rather than flat — so the ring passes over the knuckle easily and sits with less contact against the finger.

Metal

Available in 14K or 18K gold, in yellow or white. Width, dome height, and the comfort-fit interior are identical across every combination. 18K is 75% pure gold and 14K is 58.5%, so an 18K band is noticeably heavier on the hand, and in yellow it is a deeper color. 18K is also the softer of the two and picks up surface marks faster with daily wear, while 14K is harder and holds a polish longer. White gold is alloyed to a pale color and finished with rhodium plating, which is what gives it its bright white surface. Nothing here is plated base metal or gold-filled — the gold runs through the whole ring.

Sizing

Available in sizes 5 through 12 in half-size increments. Comfort-fit bands run about a quarter size large compared with a standard flat fit, so if you were measured in a standard band, order a quarter size down. A larger ring uses more gold, so sizes 7.5 to 9.5 and sizes 10 to 12 are each priced a step above the base.

Care

Wash with mild soap, warm water, and a soft cloth. There are no stones or settings on this ring, so an ultrasonic cleaner is safe to use. A polished band collects fine surface scratches over time; these sit in the top layer of metal, and a jeweler's polish removes them and returns the ring to its original finish. White gold's rhodium plating wears thin after several years of daily wear and can be re-plated by any jeweler, which restores the bright white surface. Store the ring separately from harder pieces so it does not pick up marks in a drawer or travel case.
