He spent hours in and out of the water by his home. Then, as a young adult, he took a trip to Santorini where he was quickly captivated by the intricate work of the local goldsmiths that use the ancient technique of granulation. The remarkable detail of the delicate patterns made from 22k gold petite balls demands a level of artistry, vision and craftsmanship not often found in the modern world. A goldsmith must fuse the petite 22k gold balls onto 22k gold surfaces using intense heat that may melt both the gold balls and the gold metal surface if done incorrectly.

The workmanship for each piece of granulated jewelry commands formidable patience and skill. Zeira was enamored by this style of jewelry and felt that it would make very unique, fine jewelry for women. Inspired, he flew to New York City where he began studying Classical Greek jewelry at the Jewelry Arts Institute. After just 6 weeks he became a teacher there.

Zeira’s Classic Style Jewelry

While immersed in the technical methods of Classical Greek jewelry, Zeira began to design his own classic style jewelry collection, integrating new and ancient charms while creating an intricate, innovative style of his own. Zeira’s Signature Classic Jewelry Collection is a blend of the ancient technique of granulation and modern style. Demanding painstaking precision, this collection is created using classical methods and materials including solid 22k gold. 

Since creating granulated jewelry is a very technical, complex process, pieces from this collection take up to 8 weeks to produce. 

Fine Jewelry for Women from the Ocean: True Nature Inspired Jewelry

Throughout the years, Zeira’s methods and style were always evolving, and when he returned to the Galilee with his family in 2015, he found himself close to the Mediterranean Ocean once again. Coming home evoked a renewed passion for the sea, and he began creating a new nature inspired jewelry collection – silhouetted piercings shaped like the underwater sea-polyp, anemone. In this unique collection – Anemone Jewelry – each shape is different, and as you look at them as a whole, they create the illusion of movement, leaving you mesmerized as the shapes seem to pulsate in front of you. It is an original collection that blends this unique aquatic theme and cultivated luxury.

Natural elements that evoke deep feelings of calm and tranquility are common motifs throughout Zeira’s collections. With organic elements in mind, he later created Anemone Earth – an incorporation of a course, sand-like texture on the gold and silver metal of his pieces. The fine, sand-like detail on the pieces replicates the intricate patterns left by mother nature on the surface of a sand dune. 

More recently, as tensions have risen in the Middle East, the artist has renewed his interest in his Jewish Heritage in the launching of his latest collection of Judaica Jewelry. Ancient traditions of Jewish prayer, blessing, and ritual have made their way onto these pieces. In the Jewish tradition, words and symbols have extremely powerful capabilities. Prayer serves as a conduit to connect with the Divine energies that flow through the universe. Through prayer, individuals can tap into these spiritual forces to influence and transform both the spiritual and physical realms. In Judaism, it is a core belief that we have the power to change the world with our words. 

Artists never stand still, they evolve and their work reflects their life experiences. After personally battling with the disease, the idea to help support families undergoing treatment for childhood cancers became at the forefront of our brand’s mission.
